Fall in love with The Sugar Art Brand New Gel 2.0 Collection! Today we will teach you how to make easy fall leaf cookies for all of your holiday gatherings, too! These cookies are PERFECT for a beautiful Thanksgiving Table or a fun fall party, the technique is also very easy to accomplish - even for beginner cookie decorators!

Coloring Royal Icing Has Never Been Easier!

For many years we have taught how to use Master Elites in royal icing. Well the good news, these Gels have the same POWER as Master Elites - but are already activated!  So coloring royal icing with The Sugar Art Gels has NEVER been easier!

One thing to note when using our Gel Colors (click here), go very slow in adding your drops as they are up to 5x's stronger than all other gels in this industry! Colors will develop and deepen as they sit, too. What we always do is stop a shade lighter than the goal and let the icing sit under a wet towel for 30 minutes. Almost always the color has reached the tone we were going for and we used less Gel in the process!

These Gel colors are so powerful, one bottle should last you a long time. Plus, at $4 for a full 1oz bottle - that is a price that cannot be beat!

Simple Technique For The Perfect Fall Leaf Cookie!

When decorating cookies, I like to do simple designs with a huge impact! Having a disability, I have to decorate and ice my cookies with one hand - while the other rests on the counter, offering me balance and stability. So if I can do these cookies, YOU CAN DO THESE COOKIES! :)

Now, I did this technique as monochromatic leaves using the exact same color for all 4 tones. You could take 3 different Gel Colors (I'm trying Pumpkin, Autumn Gold and Burgundy next!) and do the exact same design! By using different colors, it will create even more of a realistic leaf look!

To do the cookies this way - simply start with the darkest tone of the color on the edge, then continually outline with the 3 other lighter tones all the way to the center. You will want to grab a SCRIBE (click here) to drag the needle across your wet icing, creating striations of color.

I think these cookies are so beautiful and simple, but very impressive! That's exactly the kind of cookie decorating I am in to! :)
